Many people who have considered going vegetarian, get a little anxious when they think of sitting down to eat and not seeing a big steak or a burger with fries staring back at them. Visualization is a large part of eating, but pleasing one’s taste buds is equally important. The following recipes are recommended, not only for the devoted vegetarian, but for anyone who just desires something a little different – and gain some healthy living at the same time.
You will like this recipe for Black Bean Patties because it is easy to make as well as very tasty.

Preparation time: 10 minutes — Cooking time: 10 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • ½ onion, diced
  • 1 can black beans, well drained
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 slices bread, crumbled
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp seasoned salt
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • oil for frying

Preparation: Sauté onions till soft, about 3 to 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, mash beans until almost smooth, add sautéed onions and rest of ingredients, except oil, adding the flour a few tablespoons at a time to combine well.

Mixture will be thick.

Form bean mixture into patties, approximately ½ inch thick and fry patties in small amount of oil until slightly firm. Enjoy!

For those who might prefer a spicier burger, try this recipe for “Slightly Spicy” Black Bean Burgers (very good and cheap!)

Preparation time: 10 minutes — Cooking time: 10 minutes.

Ingredients (makes 4 burgers):

  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1-2 teaspoon chopped garlic (bottled is fine)
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • 1 (6 ounce) can green chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons salsa (mild, or as you like it)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup dry breadcrumbs

Directions: Place beans in large bowl and sit aside.
Heat oil in a large frying pan, add onion, garlic, corn and cumin.
Sauté about 2-3 minutes over medium heat.
Add the green chili sauce and sauté another minute or two.
Place in bowl with beans, let cool and mash with stick blender.
Add salsa, chili powder, flour and breadcrumbs.
Stir to blend ingredients with a rubber spatula.
Form into 4 patties and place on wax paper. Can be stored in Tupperware until ready to cook.

To cook, spray on one side and sauté on medium heat until browned, repeat on other side.

The cooked burgers can be served on toasted burger buns with pepperjack cheese, mayo, lettuce and tomato, or with any other dressings you desire.
More options:

If you prefer more beans, you could use two cans of beans in place of one.
For those who are not fond of onions, you might use some Jalapeño peppers, instead.

[Note: Canned corn can be used in place of frozen.]

That’s right! Here’s a healthy recipe for egg drop soup that only takes 5 minutes to make. This egg drop soup has a lot of benefits tied to it. There is 0 carbohydrates and it’s free from Gluten. That’s not to mention the number of nutrients that this healthy recipe comes packed with.

What You Need

• Sea Salt (This is to salt the soup to your taste.)

• Pepper (This is to add pepper flavor to your taste.)

• 1 or 2 Green Onions, You need to make sure that the green onions are chopped up small.

• 6 to 8 Pasteurized Eggs (Make sure they are beaten slightly.)

• 6 Cups of Chicken Broth

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a pan. Once the chicken broth is boiling, go ahead and toss in your green onions, salt, and pepper. If you can get your amount of salt and pepper right in the egg drop soup, everyone will be hogging out on your creation.

Now is the time where you will be beating the eggs in a bowl of your choice.

Once the spices are right and everything is the way you want it, remove the chicken broth mixture from the heat. Pour the eggs that you beat into the broth while whisking the chicken broth mixture in the pot. If you want big pieces of egg, just whisk the mixture slowly. If you don’t want the egg to be noticed, whisk it really fast. Now you have true egg drop soup!

What You Will Need

4 Chicken Breast Halves (Bone-In)
1 Cup Teriyaki Barbecue Sauce (This Recipe ise Posted in health in life)
1 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil

Brush the chicken breast halves lightly with the vegetable oil and place the chicken on a rack. You’re going to want to grill the chicken about 4-6 inches over medium coals for about 8 minutes. After the chicken has been cooking for 8 minutes, flip it over on the other side and grill it for about seven minutes.

Now is when you’re going to brush on the chicken teriyaki barbecue sauce. You’re going to continue to baste the chicken with the teriyaki barbecue chicken sauce while rapidly flipping the chicken for about 3 minutes, until the middle is no longer pink, or when the internal temp reaches at least 180 degrees.

  • 1 lb. Crab Meat
  • 1 Egg (Beat Lightly)
  • 1/2 Cup Japanese Bread Crumbs
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. Chives (Make sure they’re minced well!)
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tsp. Celery Seeds
  • 1 Tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp. Ground Pepper (Use Fresh Ingredients!)
  • 4 Splashes of hot sauce. Customize to your taste.
  • 1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Tsp. Butter or Margarine

For a tasty yet healthy burger, choose no other than this delicious crab burger. It’s recommended that you use pasteurized crab meat which can be found in the deli of your local grocery store. If you prefer to use any other type of crab meat, make sure that there are only small clumps, nothing big as it could hurt the quality of the burger. You can serve this on a wheat bun or any other choice of grain product.

How long does this take to make?

When it’s time for a quick meal, you can have this along with a side salad in 20 minutes. That’s quick! A crab burger and a side salad is a very healthy and plentiful meal. This burger is so easy that anyone can make it.

Healthy Recipe Instructions
Yields: 6 Crab Burgers

1. Mix the Japanese bread crumbs, egg, crab meat, celery seeds, lemon juice, chives, mustard, hot sauce, mayo, and pepper into a large bowl. Use this mix to form 6 crab burger patties.

2. Heat a skillet that contains the extra virgin olive oil and butter/margarine over medium heat, do this until you see the butter begin to foam a little bit. Cook the crab burger patties until they are golden brown in color, this is usually around four minutes per side of the crab burger.

Have you ever wanted to have a delicious salsa without having to worry about a recipe that wasn’t created for the purpose of being a healthy recipe? We have decided to dig up a tasty recipe to add to our healthy recipes collection that you can prepare at home for a tasty salsa.

  • 1 ounce Roma tomatoes
  • 1/2 ounce Roma tomatoes (crushed)
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (ground up)
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin (ground up)
  • 1/8 red onion (chopped)
  • 1/8 white onion (diced)
  • 1/8 yellow onion (diced)
  • 1/2 ounce jalapeno peppers (cut up)
  • 1/8 bunch cilantro (cut up)

1. Fill a large sauce pan with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Place your tomatoes into the boiling water, you need to do this quickly. What this does is sets the color into the tomatoes and it makes the skins easier to remove.

2. Place your lemon juice, cumin, tomatoes, salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder into a sauce pan and mix it up well. Once the ingredients are mixed thoroughly, bring them to a boil on your stove. Once these ingredients are boiling, stir in the remaining ingredients.

3. Once the salsa has obtained a good consistency to satisfy the needs, throw it in the refrigerator to cool off until it’s time to be served.

Quick Healthy Recipe Note: You may substitute the tomatoes for canned tomatoes.
