Driving up website traffic is the biggest challenge a website faces today. The market is flooded with techniques that promise the moon but how many of them really work and produce results? Video promotion is among the most popular current trends – as a highly impactful web promotion technique and is already a proven method. As every one knows a picture speaks a thousand words and a video can be said to speak much more than that. An impression created by a video on a visitor to your site could have a lasting impact and this in turn will make him/ her recollect it to others. Thus a small piece of impressive video matter can make your blog go a long way in terms of promotion.

When making a video there are a few things to be considered. These include content of the video and the way it is made are critical to the video’s success. The content should be crisp and to the point. No meandering or beating about the bush. It should also be for a short time but can have a “jolt” factor – some thing to make your viewers sit up and take notice of the proceeding. After all, the ultimate aim of your video is to popularize your products and services and increase website traffic. So make sure that your content is oriented towards that end in view. Next is to get the video made out by professionals unless you the website owner are a video professional yourself. Because even very good content can fail to impress if it is on a badly made video. Good editing, suitable audio, clear lighting and sequence of events are critical things that only a professional can do justice to. Not only that – professionals who are dealing with such videos day-in and day-out can give you many more innovative ideas to make your content more interesting and attractive. So it would be a good idea to spend money on getting your video done.

Videos of testimonials from existing customers and general promotional video are the two broad categories in video promotion content. Testimonials in any form serve to build trust among new comers to your site and encourage them to go for your products and services. A video testimonial has a more realistic element to it and the trust it can build is instantaneous. An existing customer that a new visitor can watch while he speaks favourably about your services is a great way to earn trust and generate instant business which is the ultimate goal of any promotion. Promotional videos have visuals and associated audio that promote your products and/ or services. They may even be accompanied by special graphics and special effects to enhance the impact on viewers. The video running time should neither be too long nor too short. It typically varies from a sew seconds to a maximum of four to five minutes. These videos when properly made are a cost effective advertising strategy and can help in business growth with increased video traffic.

How To Make Effective Restaurant Video Narrative

If you want to attract customers to your restaurant, there’s no better way than to exhibit your wining décor and mouth watering dishes before the public. But making a professional video can run into thousands of dollars, even for a short segment, and this exceeds the budget of many smaller eateries.

In order to make professional video restaurant videos available to smaller restaurants, Winmax Video of California, a producer of quality restaurant and corporate videos , has created a program whereby they will produce the restaurant video for a reduced fee, if the company is willing to write their own narrative. This saves Winmax from needing to hire a scriptwriter, and they are only too happy to pass on the savings to their customers.

If the idea of making your own video narrative appeals to you, then let me offer you some tips on how to make the narrative effective. I will be illustrating my points with references to the Augustino’s restaurant video, which can be found at:

http://www.foodreference.com/frvideos/html/local-rest-005.html .

As you watch the video consider the following techniques, which make this video narrative effective:

1) Use phrases which emphasize the quality and uniqueness of your restaurant. This video, for example employs phrases such as Augustino’s Restaurant. “The name that has meant fine dining for East Tennesseans for years.” “Continues that tradition.” “flavor unique to Augustinos.” Don’t settle for ordinary pizza.

2) Be sure to let viewers know the type of food they can expect to find at your dining establishment.

3) Avoid dragging in too much detail.
There is no need, for example to present every main dish you serve, if viewers get a good look at one dish they really like , they are more likely to come down to eat at your place, then if they get dizzy trying to take in a lot of details about all the dishes you serve, crammed in to a few seconds.

4) Use narrative techniques which encourage the viewer to pay attention to the visual details.

5) If appropriate, the narrative should appropriately appeal to desire of many people to get good food at reasonable prices This video does that in a creative way. “You will be surprised to learn that Augustino’s Pizza actually costs less than regular Pizza.” The line tells us that the pizza is inexpensive. At the same time, it uses language which suggests that Augustino pizza is more than the ordinary.

6) Without overburdening the viewer with facts, do include enough information so that someone watching the can contact the restaurant. Close by presenting concise information, detailing where the restaurant is located, their hours, and driving instructions.

In conclusion, “fine dining,” “tradition,” “unique flavor,” and not the ordinary, are the types of phrases which make stellar narrative in a restaurant video. The narrative is designed to be conducive to viewing the visual elements of the video as well.

“It’s been three days, and he hasn’t called,” my friend Stacey complained, “I’m never going to get a boyfriend because they always take my number and don’t call. Why do guys do that?”

First, let’s review how Stacey happened upon this phone-phobia fellow: They met at a bar, talked for a few minutes–and then made out until closing time. Fast forward to the next morning in which he obligatorily asks for her number…Is it really a mystery why he hasn’t called? Do most long-lasting, solid relationships start out with a one-night stand? Some do, but not most.

The truth is, if you want to be someone’s girlfriend, act like it. No, don’t go buying him boxer briefs after the first meeting or offering to take his mother out for tea on date number three. But think about it: which Sex & the City girl is more girlfriend material–Charlotte or Samantha? You see where this is going, so let me spell out the rules of showing a guy that you want more than a night of fun.

Hold back
Hey, your mum was right—easy can be just sleazy. You may think giving a guy lots of, um, physical attention, you are enticing him to spend more time with you, but it doesn’t really work out that way in the real world. Dr. Paul Dobransky, psychiatrist and author of The Three Brains of Mr. Right, says, “If you want a true and lasting relationship, maturity is required, and a hallmark of maturity is delayed gratification.” So simmer down, sisters. Kendra Thorne, 26, of Seattle has tried the resisting technique and says, “It’s a cross between ‘playing hard to get’ and showing a guy that you respect yourself. And if you respect yourself then he’ll respect you.” Exactly. Here it is straight from the (male) horse’s mouth: “When I was single, I was looking for more than a one night stand, but I did find a girl one time that was just too easy…so I did…and never talked to her again,” says Sam Wilkins, 27, of Dover. So is it ever okay to give up more than just your phone number? “It is never in a commitment-minded woman’s best interest to give up sex before being near some kind of passage toward a long-term relationship first,” Dobransky advises.

Nix the neediness
If you inadvertently signal a guy that you are high-maintenance or have a big void in your life you’d like him to fill, he is likely to head in the other direction. Dr. Dobransky—who is a single man himself—adds, “The first thing I avoid if I’m considering a woman for more than one date is neediness. Kids are needy. Real women aren’t.”

What makes a woman appear needy?
Coming on too strong—whether that means being sexually aggressive or being too clear too soon that you are looking for a long-term relationship–are sure signs. Dobransky also adds these signs: “If she’s not in control of her own emotions or she can’t make decisions for herself,” it tells a guy you may well lean on him very heavily –which can be scary to someone who barely knows you.

Demand a date
Let’s say the guy does call. Don’t take off your suspicious shades just yet. What’s he suggesting? Let’s say he says, “I just wanted to see where you and your friends were going to be later tonight. Maybe my friends will meet up with your friends. Or maybe I’ll just call you after.” Is that a date or booty-call insurance? Don’t be afraid to size up the offer and call it what it is! It’s not that he has to wine and dine you but just think about his intentions. Ask yourself, “Does this guy really want to get to know me? Or does he just want to get to know me naked?”

Bottom line, you’re a smart, attractive girl who knows what she wants. So just show that side, not all your sides. Feel free to flirt, flaunt and even finagle a free drink or two. And if he wants more, just ask yourself, “What would Charlotte—not Samantha–do?”

APE @ Sankeys Soap, Manchester

APE is a relatively new night in Manchester, boasting phat line-ups of DnB, hip hop, live music and more, running on a Fortnightly basis at the legendary Sankeys Soap Nightclub. Previous APE events have included Grooverider, Giles Peterson, Roni Size, Marky, Sappo, Fingathing & Skinnyman, as an indicator of the standard to expect.

Tonight is no exception, including Valve head honcho’s Dillinja and Lemon D, plus Beat-box extraordinaire Killa Kela’s new outfit Spit Kingdom , consisting of Kela, MC Trip, The Mixologists, DJ Skeletrik Kemi, Purge 1 and Rockwood.

We enter to see local DJ and big time promoter Prophecy stepping up to the decks to play a nice and varied set of classic DnB and current tunes, to get the crowd going. The club is filling up nicely for a Thursday, undoubtedly thriving off Manchester ’s large student population.

Next up Spit Kingdom DJ and MC take over to drop some hip hop to get people in the mood for the one like Killa Kela.

If you’ve never seen Killa Kela before, make sure you change that! Kela’s ability to construct whole songs just with his mouth are awe-inspiring, spitting a range of beats basslines and cheeky ’samples’ all together. Tonight’s set is split between Kela showing off his skills aided by MC Trip, and showcasing the band Spit Kingdom . Spit Kingdom is a clever package, marrying live vocals, drums & DJ with Killa Kela’s beat-boxing. Personally, I don’t think it has the same impact as Kela doing it all himself, but Spit Kingdom churn out some nice hip hop tunes nonetheless.

Following Spit Kingdom the DnB starts up again and its not long before Dillinja and Lemon D are in the place and ready to roll.

What follows is a tight and fast set by the Valve boys, and the packed out club laps it up. A few years back Dillinja was renowned for playing whole sets that consisted just of Dillinja tracks; tonight there’s a good range of tunes and styles to get the place bouncing, and the pair prove themselves as worthy DJ’s as well as top producers.

All in all a very successful night, with the next event hosting a hospital records 10th anniversary with Fabio, High Contrast, Cyantific & logisitics, plus future events including Adam F Andy C and the Scratch perverts, the APE boys are on course to become a solid force in Manchester, re-enforcing that Thursday night is the new Friday!

You can see photos from the night in the UKCD Photo Gallery.

Top 10 Checklist Before going out for Clubbing

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

clubbing_tipsAfter having engaged in heavy partying, I can say that when partying, you tend to encounter people from all walks of life. That said, you are likely to encounter everyday people who lack everything from hygiene to common sense.

Its also a fact that a lot of people get rejected from clubs for stupid reasons. Its just because only few people really knew about the club scene. So here is a list of ideas to help you and those around you in the clubbing scene. Use it as a guide or a nightclub checklist.

Top 10 Tips to check before you going out:

01 – Wear the right clothes. You have no idea how many times I have heard of people (usually guys) not getting into clubs because they were wearing the wrong shoes. Classy night clubs want to maintain a classy clientele. They do so by raising their standards slightly.

02 – Take a shower before you go out. I don’t care if you took one that morning, take another one!

03 – Wear deodorant and/or antiperspirant. I know, I know, this sounds obvious but guys who sweat a lot are usually clueless about what to do about it. One of the grossest things you can encounter on a dance floor is someone dancing like crazy and then stinking it up from sweating. Antiperspirant will soak up the sweat. I highly recommend spending more than a few bucks on this. Get designer antiperspirant like Ralph Lauren or Hugo Boss which will soak up the sweat and you will still smell great!

04 – Brush your teeth. I’m serious… some people just don’t get personal hygiene.

05 – Buy a pack of gum, breath mints, breath strips, or mint sprays to freshen your mouth.

06 – Put condoms in your pocket or jacket.

07 – Make sure you have large Notes. Nightclubs are frequently loud, making it hard to hear a barmaid or bartender tell how much you owe for your drinks. It’s easier to just hand over a £20 note and figure out how much you paid when you get your change. You may want to clarify it at that point.

08 – On a similar note, count your change. Some barmaids take advantage of drunken patrons by short-changing them. I know of clubs where barmaids at different bars within the same club charge different prices. That’s because they try to suck out an extra buck or two from unsuspecting clubbers.

09 – Charge your cell phone and make sure you have your fellow clubbers numbers in memory.

10 – Expect that a club will want an entrance fee paid in cash and have credit cards ready to order drinks.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drink_spiking_cut2Last weekend one of my friends ended up unconsciousness after having her drink spiked at a party. She is very responsible and everything but like me, she tends to forget about guarding her drink after shes had a few.

Another friend of mine told me her experience as well, She said “yes i have had my drink spiked with roofies and i woke up with a man’s penis in my anus, it was terrible. besides the pain if being forced to have sex with some i never wanted to have sex with and i was officially tainted…. i was vomiting profusely and trying to figure out how this happened…”

So i thought to write something regarding this issue. Unfortunately some people think it is funny but for me its really dangerous. It can do many bad things to you and your friends like impaired memory and judgment, drowsiness, loss of motor skills, dizziness, confusion, extreme intoxication despite limited alcohol intake and eventually loss of consciousness.

HERE ARE SOME WAYS YOU CAN AVOID YOUR DRINK BEING SPIKED

01 – First and the most important way, Infact only real way to protect yourself is to keep your drink with you at all times. make it a habit to not EVER put it down.

02 – Mix your Drinks

03 – Open Your Own Bottle and do not let anyone handle your drink

04 – If you left your drink by mistake go buy another one.

05 – Always buy your own drinks or go to the bar with the friends/person who is close to you or you can trust them.

It also need to be noted that Drink spiking doesn’t just occur in nightclubs, it could take place in your college bar, at a friend’s party or anywhere. So you need to be very careful to avoid these kind of situations…

Here i am posting a video to let you guys understand (Especially Girls) how fast your drink can be spiked. So please always be careful when you go out.
